Train up a child...

Train up a child in the way he should go....

My favorite verse that I often quoted, especially when our children were going astray, is Proverbs 22:6: "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it"
We think if we raise our children, from birth, in a Christian environment we send them off to Sunday School. We send them to Christian camps. We enroll them in Christian schools. We only let them listen to Christian music, and we try to make sure they have Christian friends. We keep them in youth groups We seem to be doing all of the right things.
Although when they get a little older, they sometimes go into rebellion . We think, Wait a minute! Where did I go wrong?God you promised!
Fathers and mothers, I say this before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, make every effort to train your children in the way they should go for the sake of your children's souls;. Children have always been the bow from which the sharpest arrows have pierced man's heart. Children have caused the saddest tears that man has ever had to shed. Adam found this out; Jacob found this out; David found this out. The worse pain we have to endure are those which children have brought upon their parents. Oh! be careful, lest by your own pride you think it will never happen to you. The one thing I have found working with children and parents is parents are deceived by their children thinking their child would never do wrong. Let me tell you this if you have trained a child and the child turned out right you better thank God it was not because you were a perfect parent it was only because we have a wonderful powerful God that Him alone can we give all the honor and glory to our Lord. In 2 Chronicles 25:8 we read
But if thou wilt go, do it; be strong for the battle: God shall make thee fall before the enemy: for God hath power to help, and to cast down.
God has the power to do what he wants he is
God He can cause one to fall by taking off his protection so one can learn how to be more patient with people by falling we can help others experience is not always the best teacher but it works God hates pride.and its not our place to judge.
All we have to do is Just fill the water pot with water as Jesus said and leave the rest up to him obedience like we are constantly reminding our children But I will say this, in leading our children and training our children, the most important thing we must do is to live it first.
My children do not stand a chance from walking away from the truth because they have a Mom and Dad that truly loves them enough to pray for them everyday.
I have trained seven children that God has entrusted to my husband and I. They are not perfect living in this world with all the worldly lights flashing at them day and night. But this one thing I can say for sure if you ever met up with any one of them you would see the love of God in their lives and they would surely love you because they were loved by parents that dearly loved them by the mighty power of God.
Yes God did promise but we must do our part in order to be blessed!

3 John 1:4
